After losing my mother to breast cancer last summer, I felt a deep desire to honor her memory in a way that could help others and spread awareness. Having spent years playing competitive ice hockey, I developed a passion for health and wellness, constantly pushing myself to be the best athlete I could be. My mother was a huge influence on this journey. She always stressed the importance of being healthy, not just physically, but mentally as well. Her words and guidance stayed with me throughout my life, shaping my approach to wellness.
I was born in Riga, Latvia, where the sauna and cold plunge are part of everyday life. Growing up, I experienced firsthand how these wellness practices foster a sense of community and connection, allowing people to bond with family and friends while improving their overall health. It’s an amazing experience that brings people closer in such a natural way.
After her passing, I wanted to create something impactful that combined my love for wellness with a cause so close to my heart. That’s how the idea for Sweat and Soak came to life.
